Coverage

What the GA4 and GTM audit checks

Configuration problems rarely announce themselves. These are the checks that act as a GA4 audit checklist, running automatically your analytics property and tag container, in a single pass.

Data streams

Missing, duplicate, or misconfigured web streams

Enhanced measurement

Which interactions are, and aren't, being captured.

Event configuration

Wrong names, missing parameters, or duplicate events.

Conversion setup

Marked correctly and tied to real outcomes.

Referral exclusions

Payment gateways and subdomains creating false sessions.

Audience configuration

Key audiences set up for remarketing and analysis.

Cross-domain tracking

Broken journeys showing as separate sessions.

Data retention settings

Whether historical data is being preserved

Unused tags

Dead weight slowing the container down.

Broken triggers

Triggers that don't fire, or fire too broadly

Event parameters

Missing or malformed values on key events

Ecommerce objects

Item arrays that fail validation checks

Conversion Linker

Absent or misconfigured, which breaks ad attribution.

Consent Mode

Tags firing before consent, or blocked when they shouldn't be.

Consent Compliance

Find vendors that fire before consent or continue after opt-out - before a compliance issue becomes a bigger problem.

Tracker Detection & Health

Find duplicate and unexpected trackers that can inflate data, distort reporting, and waste ad spend.

The report

What you get back

Every check returns pass, fail or warning. No ambiguity, and no wall of raw errors to interpret yourself.

A health score

One number for where your setup stands, so you can see movement over time.

Pass, fail or warning

Every checkpoint returns a clear result. Nothing is left open to interpretation.

Severity ranking

Critical, moderate and optimal, so you spend effort on what's actually costing you.

What it costs you

Each finding explains the real business consequence, not just the technical fault behind it.

How to fix it

Specific steps for every finding. Your developer can act on them, or we can.

Export

Findings exportable as a structured file for developers or stakeholders, included on all plans.

Access and privacy

What we can and can't see

Analytics access

Analytics access is read-only OAuth, scoped to configuration. We read how the property is set up, not the events or users inside it.

Container access

Container access isn't needed. We read what your site already serves publicly, so there's no login and no permission to grant.

Nothing is retained

Nothing is retained. Your data isn't stored after a run completes.

Nothing is modified

Nothing is modified. We don't write to your property, your container, or any connected account.

FAQ

About the audit

How many free GA4 audits do I get?

Two per account, one per property. That's the limit before you need a plan. After that, unlimited runs and full findings come with any monitoring plan from $99 a month.

What's blurred in the free version?

You see the health score and every check that ran. Optimal findings are fully readable. Critical and moderate findings confirm a problem exists but hide the detail and fix — those unlock on a paid plan.

Is this as good as a manual GA4 audit?

For configuration problems, it's faster and more consistent than a manual audit. The same 52 checks, run identically, in two minutes rather than two weeks. Where it still loses is unusual architecture and judgement calls about what to measure.

Do you see our actual GA4 data?

No. The connection is scoped to configuration only, never to your data. We can tell that a purchase event is misconfigured. We can't see how many purchases you had, or who made them.

I already know what's broken. Should I still audit?

Not necessarily. If you can already name the single problem, the $299 Quick Fix skips straight to solving it. Run the audit first if you suspect there's more going on than the one thing you've noticed.
