If you're seeing the message “No GA4 properties found in your Google account” while using GAfix, it means the tool couldn't detect any GA4 properties tied to the connected Google account.

This error can prevent you from running your audit and usually relates to account access or property setup. This guide walks you through the possible causes and how to fix the issue.

Why Does This Error Occur?

GAfix pulls property data directly from your Google Analytics account using the credentials you connect. If the tool cannot locate a GA4 property under that account, it triggers this error.

Here are the most common reasons:

1. No GA4 Property Exists in the Connected Account

  • The Google account you connected might not have any GA4 property.
  • If you previously created only Universal Analytics (UA) properties, they are now retired and no longer supported.

2. The GA4 Property Belongs to Another Google Account

  • You might have multiple Google accounts and connected the wrong one.
  • The GA4 property may be associated with a different login that GAfix cannot access.

3. Insufficient Permissions

  • Your Google account must have at least Editor or Administrator access to the GA4 property.
  • If you have Viewer-only access, GAfix won’t be able to load the property.

4. GA4 Property Setup is Incomplete

  • If you just created the property, Google's APIs may take a few minutes to sync the data.
  • Incomplete or paused properties can also be invisible during initial fetch.

How to Fix the “GA4 Property Not Found” Error

Follow these steps in order to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

Step 1: Confirm a GA4 Property Exists

  • Go to Google Analytics
  • In the top-left account selector, check for GA4 properties
  • GA4 properties do not start with UA-; they are 9–10 digit numeric IDs
  • If you don’t see one, create a GA4 property before using GAfix.

Step 2: Use the Correct Google Account

  • Log out of the currently connected Google account in GAfix
  • Reconnect using the account that owns the GA4 property
  • Ensure you're logged into the correct Google account in your browser before reconnecting

Step 3: Verify Property Access

  • Ask your analytics admin to grant you Viewer or Editor access to the GA4 property.
  • Without sufficient access, GAfix cannot pull or audit the property data
  • You can check your access level in the Admin > Account Settings > Property Access Management section

Step 4: Wait and Retry

  • If you’ve just created the GA4 property or updated permissions, wait 5–10 minutes.
  • Then return to GAfix and click Reconnect
  • This allows time for Google’s API to update and reflect the changes

Additional Notes

  • GAfix currently supports only GA4 properties
  • Universal Analytics properties are no longer compatible
  • If you’re unsure which Google account owns the GA4 property, check your browser's active logins or contact your team’s analytics administrator

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is GAfix not detecting my GA4 property even though I just created it?

It can take a few minutes for newly created GA4 properties to appear via Google’s API. Wait 5–10 minutes after property creation, then refresh GAfix and reconnect your Google account.

Can I use GAfix with a Universal Analytics (UA) property?

No. GAfixonly supports GA4 properties. Universal Analytics (UA) is deprecated and no longer works with the tool.

What access level do I need on my GA4 property to use GAfix?

You’ll need Viewer or Editor access. If you can’t access it right now, ask the admin to grant you the proper permission level.
